For recent Center for Automotive Careers detail graduate, Tyrone McNair, an array of opportunities approached when Vehicles for Change awarded him a 1999 Saturn LS.
While the 10 minute walk to work wasn’t an issue for McNair, keeping his clients and traveling to their homes to detail cars proved to be a difficulty.
“Once I received my car, I’m now able to expand my client base and provide my detailing service at their homes. Having to come in to my shop for detailing will no longer be an inconvenience for my clients.” said McNair.
Now able to provide a better detailing experience, McNair is making more money.
“It’s like a raise!” he says.
Not only is McNair able to better his career for himself, but he is able to create a more comfortable living for his girlfriend and three children. McNair is now able to take his kids out to do fun activited and hopes to get them more involved in outdoor activities. He’s especially excited to take his four-year-old daughter, Kori, to the park so she can do her favorite thing, climb trees!
“Living in the city, my family and I were directly affected by the Baltimore riots. It really messed with my income. I have to use my savings recover. I had to start over, and thanks to Vehicles for Change, I was able to do so, and fast!” said McNair.
